Win An Original Typewriter Artwork!

A hidden clue. A new artwork location. One lucky winner!

Win My London Bus Typewriter Art

An exclusive opportunity to win an original, 1 of 1, typewriter artwork.

Kicking off 2026, I began my typewriter art in Tokyo which is one of the most visually striking cities I have ever explored. Now, I am returning home to the UK, turning my focus to London and the iconic subject matter that first inspired so much of my work.

This latest piece is my typewritten tribute to one of London’s most recognisable symbols, the Routemaster bus. But this artwork carries something new…

It has been created entirely on a typewriter you have never seen before: my newly restored and customised travelling 1950’s Olympia SM3.

As with all my typewriter artworks, the detail goes far beyond the surface. Typed using both red and black ribbons, I have replaced the traditional advertising panels you would normally see on a London bus with hidden typed messages.

Concealed in this piece, I have typed a set of coordinates. These numbers point to the EXACT location of my next major artwork, which will also become my first on-location print release of 2026.

I am giving you the chance to own my original, 1 of 1, typewriter piece and I have called this one Miniature Routemaster Bus.

About the Artwork

For this artwork, I have chosen to depict the 159 bus route, a line that runs between Streatham Station and Marble Arch. This artwork is particularly personal to me. When I was studying architecture at university back in 2015, I was taking this bus route. It was part of my daily routine, both daytime, and the very early hours of the morning coming back from a student party. It carried me across the city and shaped my experience of London during that time.

Introduced in 1954, the Routemaster became a defining symbol of London’s transport system and design identity. Nearly 2,900 were built, and over 1,200 still survive today, cementing its place as one of Britain’s top design icons.

Before the transformation: my travelling Olympia SM3

Those of you who have been following my newsletter will know the story behind this machine. It began life as a dull grey typewriter with a broken case. Today, it has been completely transformed. Refinished in a bold hot-rod red, with its carry case relined in a rich blue felt, it is now built for the road.

This is my travelling typewriter. Lighter, portable, and complete with its own case, which is quite rare. It is this machine that will allow me to create artworks on location around the world with ease…(hopefully!)

And this miniature piece of the Routemaster Bus offers a first hint at exactly where that journey begins…
