Exciting News for Newsletter Subscribers!

Authors in Type, 2026.
Dear newsletter subscribers,
I hope you have had a warm and pleasant start to May. I am very pleased to share with you five new original typewriter artworks with early access!
Recently, I announced my upcoming book Authors in Type; a project that’s been quietly in the works for the past few years. This book will feature 50 typewritten portraits celebrating writers from across history and today. I’m thrilled to share that it’s being published with Barnes & Noble, with a global release set for 2026.

A sneaky peek of what’s inside!
And now, I’m offering early access to five original artworks that will be included in the book...
These are not yet listed on my website and can only be accessed via the links below, exclusively for subscribers to this newsletter. Each artwork is A4 in size, accompanied by a signed A4 Certificate of Authenticity.
Let me introduce you to the five authors now available:
H.G. Wells
Often referred to as the father of science fiction, Wells imagined time machines, invisible men, and alien invasions long before they entered pop culture. His work explores human progress, fear, and the ethics of science – themes and messages hand-typed and threaded through his portrait in intricate typed detail.
Beatrix Potter
Far more than the creator of Peter Rabbit, Potter was a natural scientist and conservationist. Her whimsical illustrations masked a steely independence and intellect. Her portrait includes hidden references to her work and rural legacy on conservation.
Edgar Allan Poe
Most famous for The Raven, he is the master of the macabre and pioneer of the detective genre, Poe’s life was as haunting as his writing. Loss, love, and mystery. Concealed within the artwork are hidden typed messages relating to his work and personal life.
Phillis Wheatley
The first African-American woman to publish a book of poetry, Wheatley was enslaved as a child yet rose to literary acclaim in the 18th century. Her portrait is a quiet tribute to dignity, intellect, and resilience, typed with the themes of her work and her achievements.
A ground breaking novelist and translator in the 18th century, Lennox’s The Female Quixote directly inspired writers like Jane Austen. Her portrait contains subtle nods to the battles she faced to earn recognition in a male-dominated literary world.
Each original takes a full week to type; line by line, keystroke by keystroke using my vintage typewriters (as seen above) With 50 portraits in total, this book represents nearly a year of continuous typing, squeezed in between many other projects. I’m almost at the finish line; just ten more portraits to go!
Thank you for following this journey with me. Your support means the world – and makes projects like Authors in Type possible.
Warm regards,
